ENGINEERING MANAGER

Power Edison is seeking an Engineering Manager to manage the engineering activities of our energy storage and PV solution offerings and projects. The candidate will play an integral role in helping Power Edison provide best in class energy solutions. The candidate will work with multiple groups within Power Edison, including business development, finance and operations to help deliver project specific solutions.

Our team is an experienced group of professionals in the clean energy business with diverse backgrounds in utility partnerships, development, finance, engineering, technology, regulatory, operations, asset management, real estate and distribution/transmission planning. Power Edison has a committed management team and the financial resources required to continue expanding its solar and energy storage business with our trusted long-term partners.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead design of megawatt scale solar and battery energy storage systems, including Sizing the battery and battery PCS appropriate for the project.

  • Develop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for the battery system

  • Lead the project interconnection approval process with utilities

  • Attend meetings with clients, State and local permitting authorities, subcontractors, and vendors regarding engineering and technical issues related to the battery system.

  • Coordinate, obtain and integrate BMS, EMS and SCADA designs for the battery system from third party monitoring companies,

  • Understands AC Coupled and DC coupled Battery Energy Storage systems

  • Develop technical specifications and scope of work for engineering firms and contractors


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering preferred.

    • Experience with electrical design, DC collection, AC collection, MV and HV electrical design

    • Experience designing Energy Storage and PV systems

    • Experience with power conversion equipment

    • Experience with distribution substation engineering for utilities and renewable energy power plants

    • Experience with electric utility substation, transmission and distribution systems

    • Experience engineering utility protection schemes and controls

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar modeling software

    • Proficiency in PVSYST

  • Demonstrated leadership ability overseeing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to build relationships with supply chain and customers including senior leadership.

  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

    • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization.
